Port Arthur Historic Site
World Heritage listed Port Arthur Historic Site is a place of great historic significance in regards to Australian Convict sites. A trip to Tasmania would not be complete without a visit to Port Arthur - which is only 20 minutes away from Pelican's Rest Accommodation.

Richmond Village
Richmond village is an easy 45 minute drive from Pelican's Rest and yet you are immediately transported back in time. Once a quaint early settlement is now a thriving food and wine destination.

Three Capes Track
Pelican's Rest is a great location to prepare for your Three Capes Track experience. Walk along the exhilarating cliff tops of Cape Pillar, Cape Huay and Cape Raoul through a range of natural landscapes. The start of the world renown Three Capes Track is less that 30 minutes drive from Pelican's Rest.

Shipstern Bluff is the Southern Hemisphere's most notorious yet iconic waves. Walk into 'Shippies' from Stormlea Road at Nubeena.

Every Saturday until 3 pm - Hobart's iconic Salamanca Market on Hobart's picturesque waterfront - is open for business. With over 300 stalls offering food, produce and handcrafts - it's not to be missed.

Wellington Park - Kunyani
Overlooking the city of Hobart sits Mount Wellington. Stroll through forested gullies or traverse the Wellington Range by horse, mountain bike or 4WD. Mount Wellington is the perfect place for a full scenic view of Hobart.

Eagle Hawk Neck
Eagle Hawk Neck is the gateway to the Tasman Peninsula.This narrow neck was once guarded by the Dog Line - preventing convicts from escaping the notorious prison settlement at Port Arthur. Pirates Bay, the Tesselated Pavement, Tasman's Arch, Blowhole & Devil's Kitchen are all nearby.

Bream Creek Show
The Bream Creek Show is a Tasmanian iconic event which takes place on the third Saturday of March, every years since 1897. Step back in time and visit one of Australia's last original agricultural shows.

Wielangta Forest
Just 20 minutes from Pelican's Rest is the pristine Wielangta Forest Walk. The return 2 hour walk is a great place for a picnic while taking in the stunning vegetation that is endemic to the area.

Marion Bay
Pelican's Rest is just 5 minutes drive from the beautiful Marion Bay - a great place for swimming and soaking up the scenery. Marion Bay is the home of the annual Falls Festival held every New Year.

Maria Island
Maria Island National Park is a natural wildlife sanctuary with historic ruins and stunning beaches and bays, located on Tasmania's East Coast. Maria Island is only accessible by ferry, which is a 30 minute drive from Pelican's Rest accommodation.
